Artsana Group issued a voluntary Safety Advisory in Canada in conjunction with Transport Canada concerning certain Keyift 30 Infant car seats. Seats manufactured outside of these dates are compliant and are excluded from this action.

 

DEFECT:  Certain infant car seat do not meet the injury criterion limits as established by the Canadian Motor vehicle safety standard (CMVSS) 213.1. If a collision occurs, there is a potential risk of injury to a child occupant as this specific car seat and base combination does not appear to adequately protect the occupant.

In Canada, 45,095 of these Chicco car seats were sold between February 2014 and May 2018.

REMEDY: A repair kit with instructions will be sent to affected consumers that register online.

 

You can also contact Elfe Juvenile Products, at 1-800-667-8184 or service@chicco.ca to obtain a free repair kit or, if you have any questions.

 

While you are awaiting their repair kit, it is recommended that users install their seat using the universal anchorage system (UAS), lap only portion of the vehicle seat, or without the base to reduce the risk of injury in the event of a vehicle collision. The repair kits will be available to consumers on August 10, 2018.
